Owner and chef Natsuko Teshima was born in Japan and grew up in Tokyo where her mother owned and operated a Japanese sake bar in the trendy neighborhood of Jiyugaoka. Moving to the United States in 1980, she and her chef husband operated a catering and restaurant business in St. Louis, where she also worked for Sansui, one of the city’s first Japanese restaurants in the Central West End. After a stint working in the corporate world as a manager of an international logistics company, Natsuko is living her dream of owning and operating her own Japanese sake bar and small plate restaurant.
